Very very old tower

This tower is a special commemaration to the Queen but it has a different significance to me, It was built by sir Francis Light who founded Penang and that has always attracted me. This man was a pioneer who also built a tower to celebrate his queen's 60th birthday. The best of all, this tower still stands today.

When I was a child, my dad would take us travelling back and forth between Penang and the mainland and we would take the ferry. This tower is near the jetty so I always took it as a landmark and would wave good bye to it as I left the island or wave to greet it when I arrive back in Penang. It has a soft spot in my heart.
