Legendary Drive-Through Tau Foo Fa!!!
This tau foo fa shop is the most unique one in Ipoh if not anywhere else in Malaysia. For starters, you have a choice to drive-thru, meaning you can just queue by the shop in your car and enjoy eating tau foo fa in the comforts of your car. The tau foo fa is soft, warm, smooth and literally melts in your mouth. A fair warning, it can be sweet for those without much of a sweet tooth but i still say it is a must try in Ipoh. Do try the soya bean drink as well as it is just as smooth as the tau foo fa itself. They have moved to a new shop next door taking up half a lot at a new building giving themself more space but quality remains.
Best Tao Foo Fah!
Don't let the funny English name "Funny Mountain" fool you. This place may be a very small shop tucked in the corner, but the tao foo fah sold by this shop- it's a combination of warm, smooth, soft goodness which literally melts in your mouth. It's the absolute best tao foo fah I have ever eaten, and you'll find that just one bowl won't be enough to satisfy your craving!
You can easily stop and queue beside the shop in your car as the sellers will deliver tao foo fah and soya bean straight to your car, where you can enjoy and sip the fresh delicacies. The shop usually closes around 4 or 5pm, depending on what time the soya products are sold out. You can always take away the tao foo fah, but it won't taste as yummy if you don't eat it immediately.
A drive-thru for tau fu fah.
There are plenty of drive-thru counters for McDonald's or KFC all over the place. But I believe not many of you have heard of a drive-thru for 'Tau fu fah' (soya beancurd). And yes, it really exists in Malaysia.
The name of this shop is Funny Mountain Soya Bean which is located in Ipoh, Perak near Fuh San Timsum (also a must-go place in Ipoh). You won’t see any tables/chairs in the shop because you can just stay in your car and the worker will deliver your orders.
Their soya milk is really thick, nice, and smooth. One glass is definitely not enough. And it only costs 90 cents per glass! Where else can you find such a good soya milk at this price around KL Valley?
