Freshest seafood you'll ever find
This is one of my favorite places to eat and it can all be summed up in one word ; freshness. Personally, there is nothing more disgusting than to place a big piece of prawn meat in your mouth and biting down, expecting that crunchy feel and tasty juices to flow out but instead your teeth is met no resistance and the meat becomes squishy. Disgusting.
That is why I love this place so much. Their food is never lacking in freshness and there are so many different dishes to choose from. You can choose to get some fried fish or steamed fish, all the way to large prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is no limit to what you can order here and they one thing they all have in common, is that they are fresh. Down to the last bite. Highly recommended restaurant to visit if you love FRESH seafood as much as I do.
Extremely Fresh And Tasty Seafood
Asli Restaurant / Restoran Asli Makanan Laut Mutiara Biru is situated in Perling Town, at the edge of a jetty, and is very close to Singapore. So close in fact, that just across the water from Asli Restaurant / Restoran Asli Makanan Laut Mutiara Biru is Lim Chu Kang, specifically Lim Chu Kang Lane 9, with its farms. From Woodlands Checkpoint, Asli Restaurant / Restoran Asli Makanan Laut Mutiara Biru is only a 30 minutes drive away.
The most prominent landmark that indicates the road to Asli Restaurant / Restoran Asli Makanan Laut Mutiara Biru is the Perling Mall. Turn in to the road beside it. Soon, you'll reach the gated community of Taman Laguna / Laguna Village, which has modern, up-market private homes. Continue all the way in, and you'll reach your destination.
The ambience at Asli Restaurant / Restoran Asli Makanan Laut Mutiara Biru is village style (Kampung), and you'll be dining out on the jetty, next to the seaside. It's brightly lit even at night, but more beautiful around sunset. While acceptable, don't expect fantastic service standards, as the staff here are a big family / extended family, and even kids pitch in to help. The families actually stay just behind the restaurant, and some of them double as fisherman for the restaurant.
Do expect fresh, great tasting seafood dishes, and good cooking. Asli Restaurant / Restoran Asli Makanan Laut Mutiara Biru is well known for the freshness of its fish, squid and crabs, less so for its prawns and shellfish. This is because the fish, squid and crabs are generally locally caught around the area, and very fresh. The prawns and shellfish however, may sometimes be shipped in depending on seasonality, and isn't the absolute freshest. The chefs skill with the wok however, do make up for it, as most dishes pack powerful intense flavours, and even their non-seafood dishes taste great.
Asli Restaurant / Restoran Asli Makanan Laut Mutiara Biru tends to get crowded around 7pm, and is generally fully packed by 8pm. Best to arrive around 6pm for a choice of seats (Mon 5pm - 11pm, Tue - Fri 6pm - 10pm, Sat - Sun 2pm - 12am).
