A major hit for many right reasons
If you are someone who dislikes big crowds and noisy places then this place is definitely not for you! Murni is a very famous dining place where the queues begin to pile at 8 am and you can bet that you will have to withstand the amount of noise and smells before you can get your food.
The fact is, the delicious food that is served here is totally worth the wait. Many people will agree with me when I say that the enjoyment you get from the food will outweigh the waiting times.
Worth the wait
Murni always had a reputation for having a lot of customers everyday. How many customers? So much that it had to set up tables in front of other shops and that is a true story. From the numerous amount of times I've been here, I've only sat inside the main shop once and that is by luck.
Other times, I had to wait for the waiter to set up an extra table for my group. I always order the 'roti daging' there. As I only go there to snack on something, roti daging is always the best option. At the size of a regular roti canai, it is filled with minced beef, eggs, onions and topped off with a lot of mayonnaise. You can choose to eat it as it is or eat it together with curry.
Truth be told, there are plenty of other foods there that I haven't tried but I tend to stick to roti daging as it is my favourite. For those who are wondering, it is totally different from a beef murtabak so try it out.
I love their Ribena Special & Chicken Napoleon
Murni is one of the busiest restaurant along SS2 and now it expanded with opening a few new outlets in Klang Valley. Why it is so crowded? Because their menu is a mixture of Western Dishes, Chinese Cuisine, Malay Cuisine and Indian Cuisine. Hence, any races and religious could consume at their shop and you will feel like a one stop station to hunt for your meal.
I personally prefer their Ribena Special, it is a ice-blended series of Ribena, stuff with Longan, Natade Coco, Rambutan & pineapple. It cost about RM5 for a medium size glass and the portion is just nice for me. Other than that, I love their Chicken Napoleon which prepared with boneless chicken chop stuff with cheese, chicken ham and hotdog. This really taste great and overall the expenditure for a meal inclusive of food and drink per person is about RM15. I called that fair as the portion is more than enough. They also have Roti series if you wouldn't want to spend too much there.
Nothing much from them
I only had been there twice. Their food never impress me, the only thing that amazed me was the crowd. I was told people hangout there since 8 o’clock and last till the next morning! Personally, you can call me Cinderella; I rather sleep by 12am than seating out there to chill out. The service was not bad; they clean up the table and will try their best to find you a seat and they memorize their menu very well. They can call out 10 dishes from their mouth within 3 seconds which end up repeating it over and over as we could not hear it clearly. We ordered some plain naan and mee goreng. Nothing to shout out, just average food from them.
Beyond ordinary mamak stall.
The first time I went there was around midnight. What surprised me was the whole row of shop lots that was full of tables arranged by Murni. Then my friend told me their business is so great that there is not enough seats in their shop for all the customers.
Since it was my first time being there, I asked for the menu. And I was really amused by their interesting dish names, for example Roti Beckham, I Love You, I Miss You etc. The even funnier part is when a guy friend of mine saying ‘I Love You’ to the male waiter when he was ordering for the drink.
We ordered 4 dishes: Mee Raja, Naan Mozarella Cheese Ham Bacon, Chicken Napolean and Spaghetti Carbonara, and we were having a hard time finishing all the food. For your information, there were five of us, two girls and three guys. Their foods are served in indecently large portions at affordable prices. So, I would recommend you to share with your friends if you are a small eater.
