It earns a distinction for epic disappointment.
I bet there a lot of malaysians out there who have, at one point of their life, been to Berjaya Time Square and gotten lost inside. I belong in that category. But what made it worse was the fact that I was hungry when I've gotten myself lost.
I remember walking towards a cinema, can't remember if it was Golden Screen Cinemas or Cathay Cineplexes, and saw a Marrybrown restaurant there...although, I initially thought that it was Wendy's but my hunger wasn't going to let me leave there empty handed.
I ordered a Tower Burger with some french fries and a pepsi. There isn't anything towering about the Tower Burger though. It was rather small. It was somewhere between the size of a Colonel Burger and a Zinger Burger in KFC. Even the french fries was barely warm. And I have a habit of eating my french fries first before gobbling up my burger.
Being an adventurer of sorts, I decided to try Marry Brown's for the first time as I was passing by an outlet in Penang. The only thing I can say is that their business strategy seriously needs some rethinking because they charge steep prices for low quality food.
The fried chicken tasted basically like fried chicken with no special taste. The mushroom soup is even worse, it came in a white bowl and it tasted more like flavored water which made me gag at the first taste. Truly a disappointment and I don't see them ever coming close to the other fast food giants like KFC and McDonalds ever.
Their price is steep
Marry brown’s fried chicken is actually quite expensive for what I get and nothing much to say about. The burger did not look good as well. The cost for all is rather expensive for an average meal, it cost you more than RM15 to get 2 piece set which is quite steep for me. I would say it is very family friendly as kids will be entertained by the slides and swings. Apart from the iced tea, move along folks! It is just another fast food outlet near your house, do not expect more.
Never going to eat there again.
I’ve honestly never heard any good or bad comment on Marrybrown from my friends. Probably it’s not as popular as other fast food restaurants in Malaysia.
Hence, I never considered it when choosing a place to eat until that time when I was at Langkawi aiport and there was no other better choice besides Marrybrown. So I ordered a burger set and a mushroom soup for myself.
Disappointingly, the burger was pretty small in size for the price of it. It costs me RM12 for the set. Or is it because foods are normally being sold at higher prices at every airport? Not only the burger was average, and the mushroom soup was tasteless and watery. To be honest, I’ll never come back again unless I have no other choice.
