Busy part of KL
I bet some people out there are wondering what about this place that makes it so interesting aside the long history. Well, the number one thing you can do in this place is shopping. You have a choice of shopping malls and bazaars here that I myself have found a lot interesting things to buy.
You have Sogo and Pertama Complex here. I've personally went to Pertama Complex to find a tailor to make a baju melayu and a suit. I'm not a fan of Sogo as its main highlight is the department stores which you can find elsewhere. The bazaar here is located just outside the Masjid Jamek LRT station. And if you're still not satisfied, KLCC is just 5 minutes away by car.
If you're looking for traditional Malay attire or buying textile in bulk, this is the perfect place. This street is always busy, from the early hours of operation until late at night. Come weekend and special festivals, this street will be buzzing with people from all walks of life looking for shopping items.
I don't always come here as it's always packed and crowded. Plus, the throng of people everywhere makes me feel uncomfortable having to squeeze in to find my way out.
Parking is horrible here. If you intend to do some shopping, please make sure to be there as early as 9am as parking spots are limited and if you decide to park in the shopping mall's area, be prepared to pay for their ridiculously expensive rates.
This is a nice place actually, if you know what and where to get the best bargain from.
