Good desserts.

The dessert franchise seems to be more popular recently, and as I have never tried them before, I went into Tong Pak Fu to see what was all the craze about. The setting didn't seem to interest me, it just looks like a normal cafe. Then I ordered a mango snow ice from their menu. It looked special, and it taste like blended mango fruit that's been iced. But the portion was too big, and I ended up getting sick of eating it.

Still, there are tons of things to eat in the menu, and chances are you might still be able to find something you like. Many of their products look really good.

Deliciously great desserts

When I first saw Tong Pak Fu I was reminded of the scholar of the same name in various chinese movies and dramas. The dessert store’s name was memorable but not enough to interest me to try their desserts. I was hesitant as I was afraid it might taste bad and not worth the money that I am going to pay for it.

However, that all changed when one day my friend fervently dragged me into the Mid Valley branch Tong Pak Fu. She seemed so excited to try it out that I do not have the heart to reject her, so I thought why not and gave it a try. I tried their Grass Jelly with Strawberry Topping and Chocolate Snow Ice ( RM 7.80 ). It was delicious as it tastes so chocolatey and not too sweet. The portion was quite large and I had to have my friend helped me finish it.

After that day, I was the one who is now always dragging my friend off to Tong Pak Fu much to her chagrin.

Really refreshing desserts.

My first visit to Tong Pak Fu was unintentional, I just stumbled upon it on its grand opening day in Melaka.

On the recommendation of the staff, I ordered the Mango Sago Creme with Pomelo. The mango creme was delightful; it was creamy and light and had a slight vanilla taste to it. The mango ice cream itself is full of mango goodness. However the mango cubes were slightly sour, which I could live with since it's the first day of operation.

My friend had the bestseller Black Glutinous Rice Cream and said that it was really good. I’m not a fan of hot desserts so I’ll take her word for it.
