I love Watsons because of the Taiwanese skincare products such as masks and Naruko skincare range.
Compared to Guardian, the products are slightly more expensive though. There are not many selection of items as well.
I do not like the membership card in Malaysia as it seems to be quite useless. It takes forever to collect the points but the points must be redeemed within one year so even though I spent a lot at Watson's, I could only redeem less than RM10 value.
A modest pharmacy at best
One of the thing that doesn't really seem that appealing to me when I shop in Watson's is the smaller choices of items when compared to Guardian.
In comparison to Guardian, Watson's seem smaller and most of the item found here can be found at Guardian as well. But, there's also a good side to this, the smaller store did came in handy as I wouldn't have a hard time in finding the items that I was looking for. The items also seem to be a bit cheaper compared to Guardian. However, it's not that noticeable.
The staffs were also very friendly and sometimes, I remembered the day I knocked down one of their items displays and they just smiled and rearrange the item back without any complain. I guess I do owe them an apology and kudos for the great staffs!
My only complain would be that sometimes, the cashier get clogged up and I would need to wait for the long queue to be done before I can be done with my purchase.
Not many Watson's around
I tend to only see Watson's in shopping malls. I sometimes drop by here to purchase deodorants, eau de toilette and some medicine. But the main reason I rarely come here is because other pharmacies are more convenient. How so? Well, for one, Guardian has plenty of outlets in Petaling Jaya.
The last time I came here was at their branch at Sunway Pyramid. I was looking for some deodorant but I didn't buy. Instead I bought reload topup for my phone. I didn't know they were actually selling them here. If anyone wants to avoid looking too far or avoid a long queue for buying topups, do come here.
A modern version pharmacy
Watson's is always known by its bright green signage and of course, their super bright ambiance. I always considered this store as a modernized version of local pharmacy where the whole display is always up to date and you have a great choice buying your staple needs here.
This store is more or less functioned as the other pharmacies where the items are mostly the same. But what makes it different from the other local chains is their atmosphere. The outlook of this store is great and has a nice atmosphere. The staffs are friendly and very courteous.
It's an added bonus if you're a member of the VIP Watson where you can collect points for every purchase you made. The accumulated points can be redeemed for more discounts so all in all, it's really a great shopping experience.
