Great tasting bak kut teh!
My friends and I came here one day as we came over to meet someone and he happened to live nearby. Bak kut teh is one of my favorite dishes simply because of the herbal essence of the broth and how it makes everything seem so fragrant and delicious. I like dipping the tofu into the broth itself from the beginning to let it soak up all the herbal goodness. Some places include tough and dry chicken but over here they include succulent pork ribs that are simply great to the palate. Recommended place for sure!
Not my cup of tea
This placed is always filled with so many people so I was glad that I got a seat one day. It was really hot in here.
My expectation was let down when the bak kut teh arrived as I did not like the clear broth style of bak kut teh. My preference is the rich, thick and dark bak kut teh which is full of flavour. The light bak kut teh has very mild herbal taste, it seems like there's only soy sauce and water in it. Anyhow, most Johorians seem to prefer this light style as apparent from the multitudes of bak kut teh shops serving this type of bak kut teh in Johor.
I think that the Yellow Rice Wine Chicken and tofu taste better than the bak kut teh. The tofu was sweet and addictive, maybe because it was my first time eating them.
