I am a food seeker, and I love to dine and write about food that I have tried on my on. That is why I was rather disappointed when I had heard how good this place's asam fish head were supposed to be very good. They were very sour and salty, and I suspect the chefs there like to use loads of MSG as I was left with a burning thirst after the meal. I had ordered some deep fried prawns which were crunchy but were not very fresh, leaving a mushy sensation in my mouth which was not very appetizing at all.
I am a regular customer due to its location which is near to my house. The food arrives fast and the price is reasonable.
My favourites are the asam fish and dragon tongue. The asam fish is served with fried fish eggs. The asam tastes good with rice, but it is way too salty on its own. The dragon tongue is a nyonya dish in which the fish is fried and served with cencalok, which I like more than the asam fish.
The sambal petai sotong is not bad, but I don't like the sambal with burnt taste which is typically served in Chinese restaurants, and this is no exception.
