Chicken Hot Pot was originated from Shanghai using ChongQing recipe, it was voted as one of the signature delicacies by local people. There are two ways to enjoy the hot pot meal - finish up the dried and chili chicken meat, and start to steamboat using the remaining gravy with soup added after that.

Steamboat or Hotpot? you don't have to choose!

This restaurant does its cooking very differently compared to other places. They mainly offer diners the chance to either have their meals in a hot pot or steamboat, you can even combine both which is exactly what my friends and I did. By doing so we got to experience the best of both worlds and we were able to taste two sides of the spectrum. That being said, most of the food are only delicious when cooked in a hot pot which makes the selections rather too little for those who prefer to steamboat their food. A delicious place to get delicious food nonetheless!

Two ways of eating: Hot pot & steamboat.

I discovered this restaurant last year when I was driving around Kuchai Lama looking for a place to have dinner. If it’s your first time there, you will most likely be misled by its name, and so do I.

The name of the restaurant is Chicken Hot Pot, but actually they offer a few varieties for their hot pot including fish, prawns, and beef other than chicken. Tell them no spicy if you can’t really eat spicy food like me. ‘Cause I was having a difficult time eating it even when it was less spicy.

What I like best is the idea of eating one hot pot meal in two ways, where you can steamboat after that, satisfying two cravings at once. Sadly, the food choices available for steamboat are quite limited. Overall, quite pricey but worth a try.
