Calanthe is an Art Cafe located in the Jonker Street area that serves great coffee and local food. Calanthe originally started as a jewellery shop and later on went into the cafe business which turned out to be a bigger success than his jewellery shop.

A Feast for the Eyes and Tastebuds.
Calanthe Art Cafe, is a cafe located in the Jonker Street area. The cafe is decorated with many paintings and features old school furniture. On one side of the shop, there's an artsy feel to eat while on the adjoining lot there's a living room that when you see it for the first time it feels like you've just time traveled 50 years back.
As for the food, the must try would be the Nyonya Laksa which has been awarded as the top 50 laksa in Malaysia. For drinks, the cafe prides itself for serving the 13 States' of Malaysia Coffee. There are all together 13 variations of coffee which are named after each state in Malaysia. My personal favorite coffee would be either the Johor or Perak, ice blended coffee.
The non ice blended coffee doesn't taste anything special to me.
