Highly overrated

I find the cakes here too sweet. I only love the cakes at the first two bites. If only they could lower the amount of sugar, then I would be a huge fan of their cakes especially the chocolate lava cake which has a great chocolate-y taste.

As mentioned by other reviewers, the other food is expensive and not deilcious. I have tried the spaghetti, tomyam, lasagna, and Japanese noodles. I do not like any of them but if I were to choose one, I think the lasagna is the best but it tasted quite salty.

To review this is a piece of cake...if you know what I mean.

I have been going to this place for about 5 years now to buy birthday cakes or to satisfy my oreo cheesecake craving. For about RM5 per slice, I''d say any cake is worth every cent as it also gives you an insight as to which cake to buy for a person's birthday. For my mother, I always buy her either a raspberry or strawberry cheesecake as she loves berries.

Besides the cake, the food isn't exactly something to rave about. From Beef Lasagna to the Chicken Cordon Bleu, it's quality and taste is satisfying but noticeable below the levels of Italliannies and Food Foundry. The portion of the food is also small. You can definitely feel more full by eating a medium McValue meal at McDonald's.

All in all, the only thing worth buying at this place is the cake and nothing more.

What a difference a cake makes.

I always am one of the first few who agree to dine at Secret Recipe whenever anyone suggests it. The reason for my enthusiasm boils down to just one thing. Their banana chocolate cake. I had it for tea one day and have since become a die-hard fan, even requesting it for my birthday. The bananas and chocolates are perfectly balanced, neither over powering the other, and they come together with help of some cream and sponge cake to give you this moist piece of goodness.

I have been to Secret Recipe a few times, and to be frank, I can only remember this cake. I probably had a salad and maybe even pasta, but I can’t really be bothered to remember. All I know is that the food wasn’t bad enough for me to remember, and coupled with their Banana Chocolate Cake, it’s enough to bring me back.

Heavenly Cakes!

I've had a wonderful coffee cake for my birthday this year, and it was given from my parents. It was also my first impression of eating a cake done by Secret Recipe. Feeling interested, I went to their cafe for a change to try some of their food. The setting in the cafe is designed in red and white colour, but it wasn't anything spectacular about it. Unfortunately, the same could be said about their food. Their spaghetti tasted too dry, and it's lacking in cheese.

I can only like Secret Recipe for their cakes, among all that I've tried, They're all good. So if you're going to buy a cake, get it from Secret Recipe. I don't recommend ordering anything from the menu though.

MY sweet tooth hurts

My wife bought for me a birthday cake from them this year. It was rather expensive for it's size (the cake could only be cut into 4 equal, average sized slices!) Only 4! The price tag on that cake was about MYR 25 which was ridiculous to me.

IT came in a beautifully decorated red box and had nice decorations on it but who judges a cake based on how it looks rather than how it tastes right? One bite of the cake suggested otherwise. It was a strawberry cake but was really really sweet. I have a sweet tooth and i enjoy sweet things every once in a while but that cake was simply overkill. Perhaps there was an accident and someone spilled a whole sack of sugar into my cake when it was being made.

I'm never going into another Secret Recipe store again.

Go for the cakes

The only thing that keeps me going at Secret Recipe is the cakes. They have a variety of cakes to choose from, together with brownies and some savory pies. My first encounter with cheesecake was with Secret Recipe when I was in high school and thanks to them, I am now an official cheesecake lover. Saying that, I'll always head down to their nearby branch to get my cheesecake fix.

This cafe has grown over the years and developed some new menus for their patrons. However, the menus are a disappointment. Besides being pricey, they aren't the best and just tasted boring. Just go for their cakes, they will never put you down even though they can get quite a bore after a while.

Cake taste really good, but too bad for its Menu.

I will not forget the taste of Marble Cheese Cake, New York cheese and chocolate cheese cake, these cakes taste superb and you will not stop eating after you taste it. There is a great value deal on going from 4pm-6pm, "buy a slice of cake, free one cup of tea/coffee". This is the time which I will visit to the nearest outlet to have my Tea.

Other than the fantastic cakes, I realised that the menu is quite little of choices, the most that i prefer to consume is Chicken Cordon Bleu, It is prepared using boneless chicken meat, stuffed with melted cheese and chicken ham. Besides, it also served with french fries and salad. This is one of the dishes that I would strongly recommend.

Caketastic

I believe most patrons of Secret Recipe visit them because of their cakes. I am not exception; I got hooked on to their famed cheesecake when my cousin introduced me to it. I can not describe the cheesecake with words. It is simply exquisite, and tastes absolutely wonderful. There are many variants, but my personal favourite has to be the marble cheesecake.

I cannot say the same for their other fare though, as I have not tried it. But I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an affordable place to have a slice (or entire plate!) of rich, white cheesecake.

"Lovely cakes, not-so-good regular menus"

The main attraction of Secret Recipe is of course their delicious cakes. My favorite is Chocolate Indulgence and have been a fan ever since. The interior design gives a comfort and relax feelings which do make my visits there enjoyable. I always return for their delicious cakes. I was quite disappointed with their regular menu. The prices are quite high and the taste did not meet my expectation. They should put an effort in their regular menus especially the noodles. The crew service was undeniablely awesome here in Sri Iskandar outlet. The only problem here is the most of the cakes are always sold out thus limiting the customers’ choices when buying. Other than that, I just simply love the cakes!

High quality cakes

I am a great fan of Secret Recipe's cake. The cakes are high quality which will never fail to satisfy those who are craving for dessert. Sometimes I will go during noon time (3-5pm, if I'm not wrong) as I will get a free drink for ordering any choice of cake. With the free WiFi, cozy atmosphere, cake and free drink, I can spend my whole afternoon there.
I never tried the food there before. If I go there for a meal, usually I will order the kid's meal, beef burger. The burger comes in a several of mini sized burger and letters fries, so cute!
