Preserved but with a dark history

Visitors are allowed to enter this mosque to visit outside of prayer time. It is one of the most beautiful and influential landmarks in Penang. It has a dark history unfortunately and I encourage visitors to find out exactly what the word "Keling" means. Do beware that you do not call someone using that word.

The mosque was built by both Indians and Muslims so you can see the influence in the building itself. It is beautifully decorated with scriptures from the Quran and is worth taking a few photos for memory. Do observe the dress code however.
